Moments later, truck headlights announce that the “friends” are returning. A blood-soaked Johnny instinctively runs away into the darkness, overwhelmed by what has unfolded. The trio soon discover the lifeless body of their late friend and flee to get the police, as well as “Johnny’s” father.

Johnny realizes the grim reality of his predicament. He may well be trapped in this strange reality, and has just commit murder. If the corpse remains and he’s seen, who knows what consequence he may face.

Knowing his time is short, Johnny returns to the nightmarish scene, drags the corpse across the field and hides it in some nearby woodland. In silent prayer, he beseeches whichever deity that may be listening to keep his secret. With somber conviction, he dons the blood drenched clothes of his
shadow self and sets off once more into the night.
